I was talking to my step-daughter Megan on Thanksgiving and was joking that it was a day for food, family and football (Megan doesn't watch, understand or like football) and that this was a day to recognize the one truly American sport of football and not that European version known as soccer.
The conversation was all in fun.
I am thankful that I get to share a little of Megan's life and her addition in my life is a treasure. She is my daughter now and I am the proud parent of two beautiful young ladies and their wonderful families and I am thankful for them.
I failed to say to Megan that Thanksgiving is a recognized holiday when we as Americans express our thanks to GOD and his divine providence. It is His providence and not luck that has made us a great nation. It is, has and hopefully will always be a day when we as a nation pause and reflect on the Almighty and breathe a prayer of Thanksgiving.
We do have so many reasons to be thankful.

The vote on Issue 2 went as expected
The bane of a lot of Ohio's problems raised it's ugly head and voted down the Governor's new law. Union Heads like Trumka were on the tube talking their lies and bragging after spending millions to retain their power. It was an anti-union law. Unions are killing this country and this state on the back of the lowly taxpayer. In Ohio we know all about taxes. I just looked at my taxes paid so far this year and it was frightening.
Thankfully we did vote down Obama's healthcare initiative. Former Governor Strickland stepped in it when discussing it with Greta on Fox News. He said the vote was meaningless and the voters were "uninformed". Thankfully he is no longer our Governor.

Issue 2
Issue 2 is a measure done by our Republican Congress in Ohio to prevent some of the runaway control of powerful unions in our state and to make our state competitive for jobs. I have no control over adverizing on my blog and I noticed after my last post that there was an d ad to vote no on issue 2- we should vote yes on issue 2.
We can not allow union power to control our state and cripple economic development and continue to abuse the tax paying public.

Why I haven't posted in a while
I regretfully haven't posted in a long while and my friend Rick asked why. The truth is that I have been sick & frustrated by all I see around me. There is no end to what I could say about Obama unless I simply say in to response as to whether we can believe him, well...are his lips moving. One example is in his latest , greatest jobs bill a.ka. "much of the same" he blames Republicans for not passing it when his own Democratic controlled Senate won't bring it to a vote and when the Republicans in the House or Sentate propose something those same Democrats in the Senate either vote down or ignore it.
Here in OHIO we are facing a vote down of the bill our Senate passed because of protests and money spent by UNION Thugs and their great power and Ohioans have such a short memory of the kind of man Kaisich is and how he was instrumental in transforming the economy and balancing the budget (along with jack Kemp) when he was in Washington.
I am really concerned that we have dumbed down our children as the protest on Wall Street and elsewhere such as San Dieago, Washington, Richmond and elsewhere has proved. It is all enough to make sensible people puke...

This President is Numbing
This is a fact. He numbs the brain, the body and the heart, figuratively and literally. His recent rants against "the rich" and his "jobs (?) bill" which could be called "Stimulus Two". It is all very numbing. Can anyone be this stupid? I guess so because all the Dems are repeating his mantra and LIES as fact.
It is almost unbelievable that the AP came out with an article that refutes his numbers.
As a President I am afraid he will "numb" our country into economic and moral oblivion.

Did you know?
Just a couple of months ago we found out that there are more Federal employees now than there are employees in manufacturing in this country. This means that there are more people producing nothing in this country yet being paid than there are people producing something that can be made & sold in this the good old USA.
A couple of thoughts on CNN & the Tea Party and the Debt Crisis
I was stuck in aroom where CNN is on and they were reading email about the Tea Party, EACH was a negative response to the T.P. and I tought CNN editors really sought out the worse (also interviews with senior citizens were the same) and then I realized no TEA PARTIER would watch CNN to send in a response (that would be accurate & true) unless they were like me stranded some place where thats all there was. It could have been worse, MSNBC.
The deficit bill should be immediately cut ALL federal departments by 10% and freeze all hiring. Send it up, the president has raised federal employment by 20% since he came into office.
What about congressional incomes & benefits which equal $285,000 a year! When did this happen! The average American makes less than $60,000 a year and the lowly congressperson has a base salary of $175,000 a year then we add up the bennies.
The average federal employee makes about $120,000 a year and we found out the federal employee has it so good more die on the job than a non-federal employee.

Mr. Obama and his Laughable Budget
Here he goes again! The Prez brings out his budget this week and talks more of continuing his "investments" (spending for the uninformed) and how over ten years we will save trillions when the truth is in ten years our deficit will go from 13 plus trillion to 26 trillion. We are exceeding the debt ceiling and will exceed it at 14 trillion. Congress will have to approve raising the debt ceiling to continue to pay for government.
Do you know what burns my shorts? The Prez says he "cut"taxes when though regulation alone he has increased taxes. His cut is continuing the Bush tax cuts. He didn't want to do that, but the Republicans forced his hand.
I cannot tolerate his blatant lies. What should be done? Some possible solutions:
1. Cut every program by 15% across the board. Let these programs live within their means.
2. Stop ANY new Federal jobs. (The Prez's budget calls for adding 1,000s of new IRS agents to wring more money out of US taxpayers). I'm not sure they could get enough monies to pay the increased cost of salaries, benefits, etc. This doesn't include the additional 15,000 agents to administer the Health Care bill.
3. Stop all Federal pensions from this day forward and put all pension money in 401Ks and stop the influence of unions in the Federal gov't.
4. Reduce the taxes and let all Americans pay taxes at an even & lower rate. CHANGE THE TAX CODE!
5. Demolish the Department of Education (who has not educated anyone) and send that money back to the states.
6. Send the UN somewhere else. We don't need them here. We have funded them far too long.
7. Set term limits and cut way back on Congressional bennies.
8. Deport Jimmy Carter to Cuba, Iran, Venezuela or anywhere. I am tired of his hatred of this country and his support of despots. He is an embarrassment to Southerners everywhere. This may save money but it will make most of us feel better.

The President did not Disappoint me at the SOTU Speech
I've got to say that the President did not disappoint in his SOTU speech last week. I know this statement must catch you by surprise(those who have read this blog or seen my Facebook page) that I wasn't disappointed by the great B.O.-I wasn't.
I knew he would talk about MORE spending under the guise of investing-he didn't disappoint.
I knew that he would promise to halt some additional spending after he has spent this nation into near oblivion. He didn't disappoint.
I knew that he would not disappoint in what I thought he would say and let's not be verbose and repeat every inane thing he said.
I wanted to be surprised. I wanted to him him say he had seen the light.-heard the people or simply had bought a calculator that worked.
I wanted him to say that he was suddenly overwhelmed by a wave of common sense(that most Americans already possess)and he was determined that we would not follow Europe's path of financial destruction.
I wanted him to say that Government was too big. That he was firing the CZARS, the EPA, the Department of ED and all the recent commissions, etc. OK, I'm dreaming here)
I wanted him to say he had visited the great Wizard of OZ and he had gotten a brain. A brain that told him Government can't grow jobs-free enterprise can and does.
I wasn't disappointed and he didn't surprise me at all.
